Disability

Learn about the services provided by the federal government and New York State for people with mental or physical disabilities. Cash payments through subsidized living allowances for those within the stipulated income range. If you have been working and paying Social Security taxes, but due to illness or accident you become disabled and are no longer able to work, you can receive a cash disability pension. For medical insurance, there is the Medicaid Buy-In Program offered by the New York State government and Medicare, which is provided after two years of receiving a disability pension.

In addition to the public assistance mentioned above, there is also a meal delivery service provided by a non-profit organization that delivers meals free of charge.
